Rudy 9/11!!!!

If a domestic group crashed the planes on 9/11 would that mean that Giuliani doesn't have foreign policy experience?

The notion that Giuliani is equipped to deal with Iraq, North Korea, the Israel/Palestine issue because he was a mayor when planes hit buildings is something the media has taken way too seriously. The proper response would be too laugh hysterically and uncontrollably.

Does the mayor of Oklahoma City not have the experience because Mcveigh was American? Did Rudy call NATO, consult with our allies, go to a war room and discuss ways of capturing Bin Laden as a result of 9/11? How does two planes hitting the towers give him foreign policy credentials? Anybody?

But there were foreigners on the planes! They were dead foreigners by the time Rudy got there. Was he going to have the police anally probe the bad guys with a broomstick? Was Abner Louima Rudy a dry run in anticipation of running Gitmo?

The fact that Giuliani is taken seriously as a candidate for President by anybody is a great stain on this nation. He has a looser zipper than Clinton, and George Bush's authoritarian and foreign policy instincts. He was a fucking mayor. Sure, it was of a big city, but he was a fucking Mayor.

9/11 happened though. So, he is ready.

I need a drink.

Pot Meet Kettle

Republican presidential candidate Rudy Giuliani called Senator David Vitter’s apparent connection to the D.C. Madam “a personal issue”, but admitted that “some people disappoint you.”

Need I remind anybody that Giuliani married his cousin, divorced her, cheated on the second wife twice, including inside Gracie mansion with the now Mrs. 9/11.

Giuliani Is Cursed. It's The Only Explanation

Today was the day Rudy Giuliani was scheduled to hang out with his kind of people at Regents University. What many people don't know is that he is a Southern fundamentalist at heart. Regents is the University founded by Pat Robertson, the undisputed obnoxious televangelist from the 80's. Jerry Falwell has unfortunately met the big Tinky Winky in the clouds.

Yesterday Pat Robertson was a busy little lunatic. He re-iterated his calls for the assasination of Hugo Chavez,(In a very Christ like way). Chavez is the democratically elected leader of Venezuela. Yesterday Pat also cured a woman in Ohio of goiter and sold 538 orders of his delicious protein shake. He does keep an active schedule. What is a cross dressing, abortion loving, gun controlling, cousin marrying, thrice married guy like Rudy going to do? Not show up? Giuliani spoke to the Regent crowd with confidence, platitudes, and mentioned 9/11 47 times. He was on his game.

This capped off a very busy week starting with his dispute with the firefighters of New York getting more heated.

Some still speak bitterly about a contract that left firefighters without a raise for two years. Some also say Mr. Giuliani has exaggerated the role he played after the terrorist attacks, casting himself as a hero for political gain.

After that, Newsday pointed out that Giuliani never bothered to show up to Iraq study group meetings because he was giving inspirational speeches for up to $200,000 a pop. One of the programs that Giuliani attended was "A daylong program infused with Christianity, patriotism and pumping music suitable for aerobics." Here is a photo of Giuliani leading one session (not safe for children, or those with acid reflux).

Then wouldn't ya know it. South Carolina is a crucial early primary state, but the campaign co-chair turned out to be a coke dealer. Resolute as always, Team Rudy appointed the coke dealer's dad in his place. He is a colorful fella with always a handy quote for the press.

On October 18, 2006 The Post and Courier of Charleston, SC wrote " Arthur Ravenel Jr., who is running for an East Cooper seat on the board, caught flack 16 years ago when he was in Congress and made a comment about white committee chairmen who operated on 'black time,' which he said meant fashionably late."

As recently as January 2000, the Post and Courier reported in an article headlined "Ravenel stepped outside 'civility,'" that Ravenel called the NAACP the "National Association For Retarded People."

When asked about the comment in the story, Ravenel said that he misspoke. "It was a slip of the tongue. I have never said the NAACP was retarded," he told the Post and Courier. "I made a rhetorical slip, and they want to lynch me for it."

Lynch me for it. What a card! A guy this funny raised a coke dealing son. What are the odds?

The excitement is overflowing for tomorrow's news. I consulted three psychics who gave me three different predictions. Miss Cleo was unavailable (I tried).

1. Giuliani decides that the cannibal vote is a niche that is up for grabs and holds a $1,000 "tastes just like chicken" dinner.

2. Rudy's ex wives and Newt Gingrich's ex wives sign a contract to host "The Look", a cheap derivative morning talk show on UPN.

3. People realize that 9/11 didn't change the fact that the man is a complete asshole.

Rudy Giuliani 's Foreign Policy Experience?

Newsday is reporting that James Baker kicked Giuliani off of the Iraq Study Group because Giuliani didn't bother to show up for meetings. He was giving $200,000 speeches to business groups in South Korea and the like. He had different priorities. Giuliani could have used this experience to bolster his non existent foreign credentials, but the money was too good to pass up.

I would also like the public and the press to quit saying that 9/11 gave him foreign policy experience. It didn't. It gave him disaster experience. If two planes accidentally collided and blew up the towers would he have foreign policy experience then? What if they were flights out of Paris? It is ridiculous. His role as mayor was to co-ordinate a disaster response. People may find that experience useful in a president, but he didn't consult with our allies, decide to shut down planes, engage in a briefing with NATO. He got briefings from city officials, and relayed information to the public during a terrible tragedy.

His foreign policy experience is how to get $200,000 to speak in South Korea. Let's be real here.

People Just Don't Pay Attention To Politics

TPM Highlights a result in the new Pew survey that details this phenomena clearly. Republican voters were asked who of the candidates was the pro-choice one. 43% correctly picked Giuliani. 15% erroneously picked somebody else, while 42% admitted they didn't know.

You have to deliberately ignore politics to not know. If you watched the last Republican debate, or talked to somebody about the last debate, Giuliani's unorthodox position on abortion in the GOP field was the center stage issue. If you listen to any political talk shows, Rudy Giuliani's abortion position has been repeated ad nauseum.

If you google the terms rudy giuliani and abortion there are over 1,000,000 hits. How can we ever have a serious discussion about events when people are actively disengaged. That is why we get the politicians we do. Whomever looks nice, sounds attractive and has pithy sound bites has a greater chance than a nerdy person with 500 page position papers. I am thinking about you Al Gore.

Rudy Giuliani's abortion position has been one of the key themes of the race. Most Republicans don't care. If you think this is a Republican problem, that is where you would be wrong. Only 37% of all voters know Giuliani's views. That is why the "America's Mayor" 9/11 thing might get him alot further in the GOP primary than many would think. There will be people who claim to be single issue ban abortion voters who will vote for that tough NY'er. He stands with them on the issues. Perception is reality.

I perceive that we will get more candidates like we have been receiving. We will deserve them too.

Is Giuliani Worse Than Bush?

Matt Taibbi puts forth a pretty persuasive argument in the current Rolling Stone.
Think about somebody with Bush's arrogance, pettiness, rejection of any other authority, but this time with intelligence.

Two Tales Of A City Under Attack

Rudy Giuliani either new the towers were going to fall and didn't order an evacuation, or didn't know they would crumble depending on whom he was speaking to at the time.

What Exactly Did Rudy Giuliani Do on 9/11?

There is an article in the Observer detailing the NY Firefighters protesting Giuliani's leadership. Rudy's abrasive manner, and dictatorial style pissed off a lot of NY'ers during his mayoral career. Making the fire fighters stop trying to recover bodies of their comrades at the WTC, was the last straw for those who still had warm tingly feelings about "America's Mayor".

We have all the UFA, the UFOA, and the fire members are all behind us -- the International Association of Fire Fighters,” said Riches. “And we’re going to be out there today to let everybody know that he’s not the hero that he says he is.”

The group’s complaints center on the faulty radios used by the fire department that day and what they say was a lack of coordination at Ground Zero.

And Riches disputes the notion that Giuliani provided any form of leadership on September 11 or in the days following.

“If somebody can tell me what he did on 9/11 that was so good, I’d love to hear it. All he did was give information on the TV”

“He did nothing,” Riches continued. “He stood there with a TV reporter and told everyone what was going on. And he got it from everybody else down at the site.”

Riches is right of course. The mainstream media suggesting that Rudy Giuliani has foreign policy experience because foreigners flew planes into the WTC is ridiculous. If a natural gas leak vented a large explosion and brought the towers down, would he then not have the "requisite experience" in foreign policy. Did Rudy round up terrorists, consult the joint chiefs, and reach out to the diplomatic community or something? Giuliani was Mayor during a disaster, that was compounded by the fact that he signed off on putting the command and control center in a prime terrorist target; the World Trade Center.

The reason that Giuliani is fondly remembered is he wasn't George W. Bush. Reading 'The Pet Goat' for seven minutes after he learned of the attacks and flying around in hysteria to Nebraska to avoid the terrorists wasn't all that comforting.

Giuliani was briefed by people, and related it to the public. He did his job in otherwords. There is a soft bigotry of low expectations for Republicans these days.

A Question For Chris Matthews.

Once again last night on Hardball, you were drooling over the candidacy of Rudy Giuliani. He's a real man's man and all. Yet, in the 1990's, you went literally crazy over the news of Clinton having an affair.

So far as I know, Bill Clinton didn't bring his mistress into the house and have sex with her while the wife and kid were upstairs. He didn't marry his cousin, pretend after over a decade that he had no idea she was his cousin. He didn't go marching in parades with his mistress. He didn't announce a divorce by press conference, not even informing his teen-aged children that they were about to be embarrassed in the largest media market in the country, if not the world.

Bill Clinton's behavior was intolerable. Rudy Giuliani is a great guy. Would you care to explain the difference to your viewers so they can appreciate your wisdom? Is it because Rudy looks great in drag? Did you enjoy him screaming at ferret owners in a manly way? Is it his loyalty to Bernard Kerik?

Tell my Chris. Why is it ok for Rudy to be brazen about his serial adulteries and marriages when it's not all right for Bill Clinton.

James Dobson Refuses To Ever Vote For Giuliani

Family advocate James Dobson, widely considered an important GOP rainmaker, says he will not vote for former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani under any circumstance in the upcoming presidential elections because of his positions on abortion, domestic partnerships for homosexual couples and other moral issues.

Dobson says today in an exclusive WND column, speaking strictly as a private citizen, "I cannot, and will not, vote for Rudy Giuliani in 2008."

"It is an irrevocable decision," says the founder and chairman of Focus on the Family. "If given a Hobson's – Dobson's? – choice between him and Sens. Hillary Clinton or Barack Obama, I will either cast my ballot for an also-ran – or if worse comes to worst – not vote for the first time in my adult life."

Dobson says, "My conscience and my moral convictions will allow me to do nothing else."

Dobson also said that he would not take a shower with, or "be going Dobson" with Giuliani. But, Newt Gingrich might be SpongeDob Stickypants worthy.

Cafeteria Catholicism For Me Not Thee

National Review Online's resident Catholic theologan Kathryn Jean Lopez wants Rudy Giuliani to speak publically about his faith. She is backing the mormon (Rick Santorum isn't running, damn it)!
An opportunity for a question to Rudy G: Are you a practicing Catholic?

I was a little surprised Chris Matthews didn't ask it in some form. You might argue it's inappropriate in the debate forum, but more than the bizarre Catholic question Matthews served the Mormon?

You see, Rudy is very squishy on abortion. Since he is not a fetus first kind of fellow, he obviously isn't a real Catholic. The church is against the death penalty, and pre-emptive war too. For some bizarre reason, K-Lo doesn't suggest that Catholics who buck the church on those kind of issues, as well as poverty, compassion, and humility that Catholics are supposed to practice, need their faith questioned too.

I actually respect the fundamentalist Catholics who are logically consistent. I know a few who nurture to the poor, protest abortion, the death penalty, and mindless war.
They are "true catholics" if anybody is such a thing. It annoys me to no end that this country has a bunch of right wing bishops who should be more worried about the logs in their eyes, than politicians views on abortion when it comes to taking the sacraments.

I have not yet heard from Sam Brownback's local parish on if he should be banned because he supported Iraq against the teachings of the church. Kathryn Jean Lopez, who supports this mindless immoral war needs to shut her yap about Rudy Giuliani's faith until she decides that she isn't going to be a cafeteria Catholic herself.

Rudy Giuliani is an annoying tempermental putz. He considers himself a Catholic and I respect that, if not him.

Rudy Giuliani's Wife Judi Is A Puppy Murderer

There is a disturbing story today in the NY Post. Judi Nathan worked for US Surgical for four years, and demonstrated their stapling technique. What the company would do was procure dogs, cut them open, staple them up to demonstrate the product's efficiency to the doctors. Those dogs who survived the surgery were euthanized. She worked there for four years.

In Sunday's Post, Rudy Giuliani's presidential campaign spokesman, Michael McKeon, said of Judi Giuliani's work with U.S. Surgical, "She was in the operating room hundreds of times, using her nursing skills and training doctors in the stapling technique."

Asked yesterday about the procedure being performed on dogs, McKeon said, "I've never heard any of this before."

Then McKeon said he would have to ask Judi.

Finally, he said only that Judi had not been involved in procuring dogs for sales demonstrations - but did not comment on whether she participated in demonstrations involving dogs.

In other words, somebody else got the puppies, Judi just butchered and killed them for demonstrations to doctors. I think Rudy might be right. Both on marriage #3, they are soul mates.
