Powerline's John Hinderaker Fails the Turing Test
John Hinderaker believes that Barack Obama is critically wounded as a Presidential candidate because he doesn't understand the dynamics in the middle east. Hinderaker is as stupid as using a toaster to dry wet paper towels, but with less charm and wit. Hinderaker, or "Assrocket" as his friends call him believes that Osama wants us to leave Iraq even though it was the best thing that ever happened to him.
Assrocket worships Bush. Barack Obama is suggesting a policy diametrically opposed to what the commander guy says is the course of action. This does not compute, and like he announced when tying his shoes befuddled him, Hinderaker metaphorically says velcro is our only option.
To say that Barack Obama is not ready for prime time understates the case. He isn't ready for a 3:00 a.m. infomercial.
Yes, that is true. I suggest we start a grassroots campaign for Ron Popeil. The man just makes a lot of sense. He's a business man, just like the President.
"We cannot win a war against the terrorists if we're on the wrong battlefield," Obama said. "America must urgently begin deploying from Iraq and take the fight more effectively to the enemy's home by destroying al-Qaida's leadership along the Afghan-Pakistan border, eliminating their command and control networks and disrupting their funding."
Our military commanders have repeatedly stated that the number one foe they are fighting in Iraq is al Qaeda. Al Qaeda's leadership has declared Iraq the main front in their war against civilization. Zawahiri has urged radical Muslims to "hurry to Iraq." Bin Laden has declared Baghdad "the capital of the Caliphate."Iraq is the one place on earth where al Qaeda has chosen to risk its prestige on an effort to engage our forces, exhaust our patience, and drive us from the field.
Our military commanders on the ground are the people hand picked by Bush because they agree with him, or are craven enough to nod their heads politely while the crazy man rambles. Al Qaeda in Mesopotamia is not "Al Qaeda". They started as a local group inspired by Osama. You know, the guy who got away because we pulled troops out of the Aghanistan/Pakistan border to catch us some
Let me remind everybody that Hinderaker went to the Bill Frist school of video diagnosis and thought that Terri Schiavo just had a few bumps and bruises, but I digress.
Is it possible that Obama is unaware of these basic facts? Can he possibly not understand that if we desert Iraq, al Qaeda will thrive there, and will claim a propaganda victory far bigger than the September 11 attacks? Whereas, if we defeat al Qaeda in Iraq, that organization will be seen throughout the Muslim world as a spent force?
If you are going to be a puppet, please puppet Cheney. This kind of reasoning is pure Bush. Al Qaeda is going to thrive all over Iraq, especially in the Kurdish and Shia regions. They also are going to dominate the secularists left in the country, as well as all the other religious factions. Why? George Bush said so. QED.
We can only take Obama at his word. Based on his own statements, he should not be allowed anywhere near the levers of power in our government.
Dude, I wouldn't trust you with the levers to my Wii gaming system. My two year old is doing quite nicely at bowling and golf. He also has a bit of common sense.

Symbolism Over Substance
The US Senate has doubled the bounty on the head of Al Qaeda mastermind Osama bin Laden, offering $US50 million ($A57.6 million) for his capture or information leading to his death. The bill, boosting the price on Bin Laden's head under the US State Department Rewards for Justice Program, passed by an 87-1 vote.
Yes. Osama's loyalists can't be bought for #25,000,000.00. Doubling that shoulf make them reconsider! I understand the symbolism, showing that we give a flip about where he is, but the time has come for less symbolism and more concrete actions on a wide area of issues we face.

WASHINGTON - Vice President Dick Cheney repeated his assertions of al-Qaida links to Saddam Hussein’s Iraq on Thursday as the Defense Department released a report citing more evidence that the prewar government did not cooperate with the terrorist group.
Cheney contended that al-Qaida was operating in Iraq before the March 2003 invasion led by U.S. forces and that terrorist Abu Musab al-Zarqawi was leading the Iraqi branch of al-Qaida. Others in al-Qaida planned the Sept. 11, 2001, attacks.
“He took up residence there before we ever launched into Iraq, organized the al-Qaida operations inside Iraq before we even arrived on the scene and then, of course, led the charge for Iraq until we killed him last June,” Cheney told radio host Rush Limbaugh during an interview. “As I say, they were present before we invaded Iraq.”
Has evil Dick Cheney lost his cotton picking mind? What is wrong with that man. My headline speaks to the fallacy of his argument. Osama Bin Laden and Saddam Hussein did not get along with each other. Let's review for the retarded amongst us. Hi George!
Osama Bin Laden wanted to promote theocracy. He envisions a reborn Caliphate where the Islamic world is re-united under religious rule. In contrast, Saddam Hussein supressed radical islamists. He ruled secularly. He put nominal christians such as Taraq Aziz in his government. Osama Bin Laden was not very amused with him. But, there was a person who was loosely allied with Osama who fled into Iraq. Therefore Iraq must be destroyed in order to save it.
Under Cheney's theory, if there is any member of any organization who breathes air in a country, that means there is a link. By his logic, there are members of every group that pisses off somebody in the United States; therefore everybody has the right to invade us.
We harbor Henry Kissinger at the moment. Several countries believe he is a war criminal. Do they have the right to invade us to take him? This is just window dressing. Cheney's policy is actually worse than this crap he spews. It is simple might makes right. In a way, I wish he would just say that then bellowing out these inanities.
Al-Zarqawi had nothing to do with 9/11 as far as any intelligence shows. The intelligence shows that we knew where he was however. We could have dropped one massive bomb on his neighborhood and killed him and a few hundred people if he was truly our concern. Instead we have chaos. Cheney can not stop lying.
Update:
The Washington Post today has a story titled "Hussein's Prewar Ties To Al-Qaeda Discounted". This is from a report from the Pentagon. This would be the opposite of what Dick Cheney is saying. Funny that.

Osama bin Laden, if he's alive, celebrates his 50th birthday on Saturday, and his friends in the Taliban prayed for his long life.
The al Qaeda leader's long silence has fueled speculation that the world's most-wanted fugitive may have died, though many in the international intelligence community reckon Islamist militant Web sites would circulate word of his death.
"He is alive. I am 100 percent sure," Taliban spokesman Mullah Hayatullah Khan told Reuters, adding that senior leaders were in touch with bin Laden, reinforcing a widely held view that he is hiding near the rugged Pakistan-Afghanistan border.
Bin Laden murdered 3,000 americans. Yet, we made sure Saddam Hussein, one of his rivals was executed. That should teach Osama a lesson. The lesson being that our government is dangerously incompetent though wasn't the lesson we should have been teaching.
So, Bin Laden is breathing on his fiftieth birthday, still uncaptured. Oh, and what ever happened to that anthrax mailer anyways? Never mind that Americans, go shopping at the malls, max out your credit cards. We have proof that Osama is actually running Iran now, so we must bomb any day now. We hear he has magically converted as a Shia, and is both North, South, East, and West of Tehran (He's actually quadruplets).
Commander Cuckoo Bananas is contemplating going after you Osama. Be wary. I would suggest not setting up shop near an oil field that Halliburton has it's eyes on, or you might be in serious danger. Otherwise, you will live as long as Castro as long as the Bush regime has it's way intellectually, and as a basic matter of incompetence.

The Telegraph says that American special forces have entered Pakistan to track down bin Laden and Zawahiri. It also says that Dick Cheney and Deputy CIA Director Stephen Kappes showed Musharraf "satellite photographs and details of communications intercepts" last week, presumably to demonstrate that bin Laden is in Pakistan, and that we have a pretty good idea where.
It's way too early to get excited about this. There have been any number of times over the years when the hunt for bin Laden has seemed to heat up. One day, maybe we'll wake up and find that he's met his just reward, as happened with Zarqawi. Until then, there is no point in getting excited.
You know it has to be a pretty shitty week for Republicans when John "the assrocket" Hindraker is excited about the hunt for Osama. Commander Cuckoo Bananas has said he hasn't given a shit for years. I find it outrageous that the party you shill for like a cheap $20 an hour whore has enabled Bush to ignore Osama, on his suicidal quest to avenge Daddy's honor in Iraq.
One day, maybe we'll wake up and find out that you met your just reward, and your Time Blog of the Year award turns into a big steaming pile of turd.
