Many today including Barack Obama are saying that rap music needs to be looked at in the wake of what Don Imus said on the radio that got him fired. You see, we are trying to get at root causes here. If black rappers didn't say nappy headed hos, Don Imus apparently wouldn't be a racist misogynist.
But, this analysis only goes so far. What are rappers known for other than bling? Rhyming. That's right. Who popularized that skill in the western world more than any other human being? It was Bill Shakespeare that's who. He also wrote about teenage sex, incest, freaky forest nymphs, hung out in the theater district and wore an earing. Hello!!!
Obviously rappers have taken Shakespeare on as a role model which forced them to say things that Don Imus' immature ears weren't able to process in an adult way. Let's burn all of Shakespeare's works, kill Kenneth Branaugh (you know there is more Shakespeare left in him), and then we can be free of this terrible scourge that has blighted our culture.
Hey Hey Ho Ho
The Merchant of Venice has got to go!

Ed Schultz was just on my Air America radio station with his thoughts on the Imus scandal. First, it is overblown. Secondly, Al Sharpton is involved therefore the issue doesn't matter. Thirdly, Hillary Clinton is exploiting this. Fourth, Rutgers is being mean to "the I-Man". Fifth, CBS is stupid because Imus generates $20,000,000 in revenue, and they should have just suspended him and given $5,000,000 to Rutgers for a diversity training program or something.
Oh, and he is being invited on Fox today for the liberal reaction to the Imus firing. He segued into the Paul Wolfowitz giving his girlfriend a raise story from this by saying that Wolfie gave the money to his live in girlfriend, and "I would get in trouble for using the other word for her".
What? You were going to call her a whore? Is that it? What the fuck is the matter with Air America stations for putting him on instead of Thom Hartmann live and can we get liberals on liberal stations instead of Rush Limbaugh clones from the center? Is it too much too ask?

Those wascally members of Free Republic tend to say the darnest things. However, they never get the attention they deserve. Whenever a comment on a liberal blog is offensive, the media gets to scold us for being very uncivil. We do not show the proper decorum like our breathren on the right. These people listen to cultured people like Rush Limbaugh, Michael Savage, and Ann Coulter. Come take a peek with me at the freeper response to this latest Imus news.
Looks like the kids on the ranch get to pay the ultimate price. Revrund Al must be very proud of his selective outrage.
This is the biggest crock of sh*t since.... how long has it been since Hillary said anything?
Next he needs to sue. If I was on the jury I would award him $$$$$.
This is just stunning. Has this country come to this? Blacks did this. “I am sure CBS will do the right thing.” I am sick.
Repulsive! Couldn’t these heartless bastards wait until he finishes raising money for these children?
he should of been fired for being a liberal, anti american hack but if it takes fat al and jj to do it so be it, good riddance to trash, hopefully fat rosie is next
Q: So, why did the Miss Black USA Pageant only have 49 contestants?
A: Because no one wanted to wear the “I-DA-HO” sash......
(Does this mean I’m going to get fired now?)
CBS got the instructions fax from the DNC and folded like a cheap umbrella.
Sad outcome of all of this. I am sure that Twany Sharpton and Hymie Jackson don’t care. They can't scam any money from sick kids.
He’s going to have to take up with the slutty Hos now; won’t be able to afford the fancy ones.
If they’re cleaning the airwaves, let the vulgar songs go too. Double standard — o.k. for Blacks to use the words in songs, but a white person can’t say them.
Ann Coulter is right - we do need a rulebook because clearly there are different rules for libs than there are for Republicans and Christians.
It's perfectly ok when a black woman FALSELY accuses the young white men from Duke, where's the outrage over that?
And it's perfectly ok when a hiphop "entertainer" calls their own black women worse names, where's the outrage from Sharpton and his sidekick about that, but let a white elderly man try it.
nappy
nappy
nappy

ho..ho..ho..ho..ho..ho...
I am uncivil though.

Brian Williams announced on NBC news tonight that Don Imus has been suspended from his MSNBC simulcast for two weeks due to his offensive remarks, where he called women's basketball players "nappy headed ho's". In this continuing serious on the freeper on the street reaction to breaking news, let's see what the posters on one of conservatism's most popular websites, FreeRepublic.com have to say about this headline.
Political Correctness prevails.
For what he said or becoming Sharpton’s bitch?
Ante up, kids. How much will Rev. AhhhJacksssssson shake NBC down for?
Hey Imus, freedom of speech ain’t for Whitey!
Imus is delusional if he thinks that will be enough to satisfy those “nappy headed racist rabble rousing pimps”
maybe they will put on the AL SHARPTON show
I dislike Imus. But I don’t know what all the gloating is about here. Conservatives should be VERY disturbed by this sort of political correctness run amok
NBC is caving to a confirmed liar, a noisy RAT Congressman. It’s PC carried to extremes. I never liked Imus, but he should have known that he would lose this one to the PC crowd. His multiple apologies were of no account in the affair.
Because he said 'nappy?' Would Webster's please, please, please publish a Dictionary of Forbidden Words?
Imus might be a disgusting liberal but as already pointed out Rush was fired for a vaguely similar thing. The fact that the race-baiting lobby has the power to get people they don’t like off the air is disturbing and if they continue to gain in power it will hurt a lot of conservatives.
Today of course is the day the NY Times has gone after the dirty hippy liberal bloggers for being uncivil. Watertiger and Digby amongst others have takes on this issue. I point out the Freepers being freepers because of the double standard in the media. If liberals say fuck we are terrible human beings. If right wingers say let's torture, murder, bomb people that is given a pass, because they didn't use an f bomb when making racist, violent, xenophobic statements.
