It's a serious question. There is no great Thompson bill that anybody can point to from his short career in the Senate. Even something I disagreed with would show a little bit of initiative. He bitched about the long days in the Senate, and meaningless votes, and really didn't enjoy working there.
So he acted for a bit, and married a woman young enough to be his daughter after screwing half the DC social set.
Reaganesque? If this is what floats the boats of the GOP, all the power to them.
