What If Yakof Smirnoff Tried to Overthrow Brezhnev?

Apparently, perennial Presidential candidate Dennis Kucinich has had enough of Dick Cheney and is planning on offering up articles of impeachment against him. According to the Washington Post, Kucinich means business.

Dear Colleague:

This week I intend to introduce Articles of Impeachment with respect to the conduct of Vice President Cheney. Please have your staff contact my office . . . if you would like to receive a confidential copy of the document prior to its introduction in the House.

Sincerely,

/s/

Dennis J. Kucinich

Member of Congress

May I laugh a bit. Cheney deserves impeachment, don't get me wrong. But Kucinich is not the person to get it to happen. Impeachment is not a bad thing. However, the country isn't there yet, and won't be until the hearings by the Waxman, Conyer, Leahy types expose more dirt that we all know is there.

This is simply a publicity stunt that will backfire. It won't pass now. By doing this little press release impeachment attempt, it may hurt the chances of impeaching Cheney later on if more information comes to light. Cheney's lies about Iraq have been offensive, and he has the blood of those who have perished on his hands. Kucinich by in a way inoculating Cheney should be a bit ashamed of himself. But he won't be. In 2012, he will run for President again with the slogan, "This Time, It's For Real". But it won't be.
