Apparently, perennial Presidential candidate Dennis Kucinich has had enough of Dick Cheney and is planning on offering up articles of impeachment against him. According to the Washington Post, Kucinich means business.

Dear Colleague:
This week I intend to introduce Articles of Impeachment with respect to the conduct of Vice President Cheney. Please have your staff contact my office . . . if you would like to receive a confidential copy of the document prior to its introduction in the House.
Sincerely,
/s/
Dennis J. Kucinich
Member of Congress
May I laugh a bit. Cheney deserves impeachment, don't get me wrong. But Kucinich is not the person to get it to happen. Impeachment is not a bad thing. However, the country isn't there yet, and won't be until the hearings by the Waxman, Conyer, Leahy types expose more dirt that we all know is there.
This is simply a publicity stunt that will backfire. It won't pass now. By doing this little press release impeachment attempt, it may hurt the chances of impeaching Cheney later on if more information comes to light. Cheney's lies about Iraq have been offensive, and he has the blood of those who have perished on his hands. Kucinich by in a way inoculating Cheney should be a bit ashamed of himself. But he won't be. In 2012, he will run for President again with the slogan, "This Time, It's For Real". But it won't be.

AUSTIN, Texas, March 11 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- The cancellation in the past two days of two planned nationally televised debates because of candidates' "scheduling conflicts" and unwillingness to participate smacks of "manipulation by some candidates who would rather run and hide than defend their records and their positions on the war," Ohio Congressman and Democratic Presidential candidate Dennis Kucinich said today while campaigning in Texas.
Widely publicized Presidential debates in New Hampshire in April and in Nevada in August were cancelled after some candidates either backed out after agreeing to participate or declined invitations to attend.
"Whatever their excuses, some candidates are clearly trying to avoid
any head-to-head public debate where they will have to answer tough questions -- questions about their votes in favor of the Iraq war, their votes in favor of trade policies that have wiped out millions of American jobs, their votes in favor of abridging Constitutional rights by approving the Patriot Act, and their collaboration with insurance companies and pharmaceutical corporations to deny Americans adequate health care protection."
Kucinich said, "it's an insult to the voters, and the height of
cynicism, for candidates to refuse to take the public stage and subject themselves to public scrutiny."
They were terrified of you Dennis. They thought that the coast was clear for the Fox News debate until they heard Kucinich would be there. They ran in terror because they knew the campaign would be over if Kucinich got a chance to speak truth to power.
Then we stop taking the pharmaceuticals Kucinich apparently enjoys, and wake up to reality. How dare you Dennis? Those of us on the left worked very hard to get the right wing disinformation channel Faux News disinvited from hosting a debate. You now decide it's a good opportunity to puff and strut, and hope that Fox and right wing radio cover your pissy little PR release here to give you some attention.
Naderesque might be a suitable adjective. Go draw up plans for the Department of Peace, and don't call us, we'll call you.
Update:Shocking news. Michelle Malkin already has an attaboy Dennis post up. This means Drudge will have one too. Yup, just checked and he does. By tomorrow morning Rush, Hannity, Fox will cover it. Then the MSM will "ask the question" about the democrats being afraid to debate. Way to go Kucinich.
