George Bush Really Is A Douche
RenaRF writes in a diary at Daily Kos about President Stupid McDry Drunk blaming democrats in congress about the tragedy in Minnesota.
We also talked about -- in the Cabinet meeting talked about the status of important pieces of legislation before the Congress. We spent a fair amount of time talking about the fact that how disappointed we are that Congress hasn't sent any spending bills to my desk. By the end of this week, members are going to be leaving for their month-long August recess. And by the time they will return, there will be less than a month before the end of the fiscal year on September the 30th, and yet they haven't passed one of the 12 spending bills that they're required to pass. If Congress doesn't pass the spending bills by the end of the fiscal year, Cabinet Secretaries report that their departments may be unable to move forward with urgent priorities for our country.
Bush has threatened to veto all this legislation. The chimp is so full of shit. He doesn't give one good damn about infrastructure repair, or the normal functioning of government. The morning after the bridge collapsed.
I also read that Tony Snow tried to turn the Republican governor of Minnesota into a Democrat and blame him and local officials for the infrastructure troubles. Tony Snow might die of cancer at any time. This disproves the stereotype that people who get sick decide to become nice people. Snow is still an asshole.

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - A September progress report on the U.S. troop increase in Iraq that President George W. Bush called an important moment for his war strategy is unlikely to be a "pivotal" assessment, officials now say.
Amid unrelenting bloodshed in Iraq and scant signs of progress by the Iraqi government in meeting political benchmarks, the White House sought to temper expectations of rapid strides resulting from a security crackdown begun at the start of this year.
"I have warned from the very beginning about expecting some sort of magical thing to happen in September," White House spokesman Tony Snow told reporters on Wednesday.
Our expectations were pretty damned low to begin with Tony. The Bush administration has a gift of disappointing us no matter how generously we grade them on a curve. The Iraqis and our troops continue to suffer the consequences with no end in sight.

Via Think Progress comes the story that Tony Snow denies the administration ever tried to link Saddam Hussein and 9/11. Don't believe your lying ears, or memory banks people. Apparently, we are too stupid to google up the multiple accounts. Most of the time it was half subtle. Bush would just say Iraq or Saddam and 9/11 in the same sentence. Cheney of course was more brazen. I am planning on booking a tour to the place in Prague where Atta met the Iraqi intelligence agent. Maybe I should call Dick up and have him tell me where the meeting took place, so my trip will be historically accurate.
Think Progress dug up one of the glaring Bush quotes about Iraq and Al Qaida, from his 2002 State of the Union Speech.
We know that Iraq and the Al Qaida terrorist network share a common enemy: the United States of America. We know that Iraq and Al Qaida have had high-level contacts that go back a decade.
Along the same lines, there is a pet peeve that drives me crazy. Why can't the media call people who lie, liars? It is uncivil true. It also is accurate when people are not telling the truth to call them liars. A week or so before the Gonzales hearing, the NY Times did an article where they apparently ran through a thesaurus to come up with a whole bunch of ways to call Alberto Gonzales a liar without using that word. Conflicts, doesn't appear to be accurate, etc...
He lied. Perhaps politicians would lie less if they were called liars for doing so. It's just a thought.

WASHINGTON - The White House dropped its contention Friday that former Counsel Harriet Miers first raised the idea of firing U.S. attorneys, blaming "hazy memories" as e-mails shed new light on Karl Rove's role. Support eroded further for Attorney General Alberto Gonzales.
Presidential press secretary Tony Snow previously had asserted Miers was the person who came up with the idea, but he said Friday, "I don't want to try to vouch for origination." He said, "At this juncture, people have hazy memories."
The White House also said it needed more time before deciding whether Miers, political strategist Rove and other presidential advisers would testify before Congress and whether the White House would release documents to lawmakers.
The White House also denied bombing Cambodia, firebombing the Brookings Institutions, and Tony Snow called Daniel Ellsberg's psychiatrist a known liar.
