The "Values" Voters
Well, Pat Robertson made an endorsement for President today. Mike Huckabee is gaining in the polls, and he is an ordained minister with conservative social positions. He didn't get the nod. John McCain is pro-life, with a long track record in congress with that position. It wasn't him. It was Rudy Giuliani.
Giuliani is basically a lapsed Catholic who rarely goes to church. He has been married thrice. The first time to his cousin. He cheated on his second wife, while she was in the house, and announced their divorce by press conference. He has supported gay rights, gun control, abortion legality, and lived with a gay couple, not to mention cross dressed for kicks.
We are constantly told that it's "values" that matter. It's a bullshit statement, because we all have different values. For example, Pat Robertson's involvement with blood diamonds goes against my value code.
Rudy Giuliani has been very antithical to minorities, believes in torture, and tax cuts for the well off. This trumps everything else, and is why Pat Robertson endorsed him today.
You can take your "values voters" and shove them up your ass.
