Call President Bush's Bluff, He's Got Nothing

So Mr. 30% in the polls George W. Bush has decided that he is going to speak out for the "honorable" people in his white house like Karl Rove and not allow them to testify in public, under oath, or with any record of what they said. If not, tough noogies.

Call Bush's bluff.

First, the concept of Karl Rove being honorable is laughable to even Republicans. Karl Rove is a dirty trick political guru. Nobody has ever confused him with Mother Theresa, although he would look fetching in a habit.

Call Bush's bluff.

Alberto Gonzales lied. Prosecutors like Carol Lam were investigating Republican corruption. The day after she told her superiors that she was getting a search warrant for the CIA's #3 Dusty Foggo (who was involved with the Duke Cunningham bribery), Gonzales' deputy put her on the hit list.

Call Bush's bluff.

The American people will side with the democrats, and it's not just the democrats here. These attorneys are all Republican appointees. They didn't play nicely with the Bush administration because they actually tried to do their jobs honorably. Who is to speak for them?

Call Bush's bluff.

Make him go to court and argue that congress has no right to know why prosecutors who got phone calls late at night, or prosecutors investigating bribery got fired and the explanation, kept changing. These men and women turn down lucrative opportunities in private practice to serve their country. How dare they be smeared as poor workers and have nobody stand by their side.
