Merck & Co.'s suspension of a lobbying campaign aimed at getting states to require use of its new cervical cancer vaccine won't stop the push for vaccinations in Vermont, a lawmaker said Wednesday.
The drug company has pulled the plug on its campaign to persuade state legislatures to mandate that adolescent girls get the Gardasil vaccine as a requirement for school attendance.
This is such a tough one. Merck is filled with a bunch of profits over people greedy assholes. Yet, at the same time this vaccine is critical to women's health. What side should be listened to on this?
Some object because the vaccine protects against a sexually transmitted disease -- human papilloma virus -- that causes cervical cancer.
Some people happen to be fucking idiots too. Can we at least pretend that the Renaissance happened? Snowflake babies can get cancer too you know.
We also have a national scandal of males raping women in this country who did say no, and promised themselves to their born again daddies until Mr. Knight-in-shining-armor decides to put down the fritos and sex her in a dignified legal way.
Women must be punished for having sex though, so screw anybody who gets cancer accidentally through no intentional fucking of her own, or whose wonderful husband didn't make it to 25 without dipping his wick. I hate Merck, but the woman hating fundamentalist assholes make me want to invest in the company and help them lobby for every young girl to be given this vaccine.
