Dig Up Anna Nicole Smith's Body
Fox decided tonight not to cover Paris Hilton, or Anna Nicole Smith as they are oft to do, but finally to pay attention to the war in Iraq on the Britt Hume Propaganda Hour. It's good news! All the US soldiers killed in the past two days means that we are turning the corner. The Shia crowd who were upset about the Golden Mosque being destroyed were chanting against Sunni Al Qaeda and not "death to America", (I shit you not, the reporter said that), so this must be taken as a positive.
Media Matters and others bitch about Fox ignoring the war for fluff. If this is how Fox is going to continue covering it, the complaints are really not productive. There is a missing pregnant white woman in Ohio. That has some potential.

Fox News isn't so fair and balanced. It's amusing to hear it come from an establishment figure. Alan Colmes once interrupted Sean Hannity and didn't apologize for 30 seconds, so Fox is making some progress.

Watching the 11AM Eastern News on CNN, they led with the arraignment of congressman William Jefferson (D-Louisiana). He spoke afterwards about what a great guy he was, and how wonderful his career has been. Toss him away for all I care.
So, I quickly flicked over to Fox News that lives to find anything bad that a democrat does which can minimize the Republican culture of corruption. I was waiting for breathless reports about how this was worse than Scooter Libby, Tom Delay, Jack Abramoff combined.
Instead, they were discussing the hearing for Paris Hilton that was coming up in an hour. Sure enough MSNBC was covering the same thing. I am a partisan democrat. I happen to think though, that a sitting member of congress being arraigned is the big news of the day. That's just me.
Paris Hilton must draw viewers though. Partisan bias is a chief reason for Fox's existence, but we can not forget it's Rupert Murdoch inspired tabloid nature. Ana Nicole Smith got much more coverage on the network than the US Attorney firings. It was not just politics. Fox News is a tabloid for dumb conservatives.
Elvis sightings may not be too far away.

The Negroes Are Stealing The Votes! A Fox News Alert!
TPM caught footage of Fox News "exploring" voter fraud in South Carolina. They ran some b-footage tape, and wouldn't you know it, it was uppity black people exercising their constitutional right to vote. Of course, none of the people in this video are actually accused of voting illegally, but they are black, and they look awfully happy voting, so you know there must be something "shady" going on.Josh John Gibson might be traumatized by this. How is he expected to vote accurately when somebody darker than Oprah is sharing the same booth with him and apparently voting twice?
Perhaps, we should be thankful to Fox. Apparently, South Carolina, which is dominated by the GOP, would have every single job in the state run by Republicans if it wasn't for the black menace.
Is it now time for legitimate journalists to get off the fence and denounce Fox News' practices?

A Pew survey of 1,502 adults released Sunday by Pew Research Center for the People & the Press found that despite the mass appeal of the Internet and cable news since a previous poll in 1989, Americans' knowledge of national affairs has slipped a little. For example, only 69% know that Dick Cheney is vice president, while 74% could identify Dan Quayle in that post in 1989.
Other details are equally eye-opening. Pew judged the levels of knowledgeability (correct answers) among those surveyed and found that those who scored the highest were regular watchers of Comedy Central's The Daily Show and Colbert Report. They tied with regular readers of major newspapers in the top spot -- with 54% of them getting 2 out of 3 questions correct. Watchers of the Lehrer News Hour on PBS followed just behind.
Virtually bringing up the rear were regular watchers of Fox News. Only 1 in 3 could answer 2 out of 3 questions correctly. Fox topped only network morning show viewers.
Al Franken wrote in his book about an Annenburg study that showed the same results. Fox News basically is a propoganda operation for the Republican Party. The problem of course is that facts have a liberal bias so they often dispense with those pesky things leaving their viewers wallowing in ignorance.

Liberals and conservatives have two different ideas of what it is to be a media critic. Liberals often expect accuracy.
Conservatives expect the media to admit the moon is made out of green cheese, Clinton fathered Anna Nicole Smith's baby, and that the ACLU is a plot by Satanists to bring along the new world order replete with black helicopters piloted by UN militia ready to take conservatives to re-education camps. These are not the nice internment camps that Michelle Malkin likes, but ones where you have to "read books", and be tolerant of other people; torture in other words.
Today, conservative media critic Cliff Kincaid takes on that bastion of Marxism that we know as Fox News. Apparently Fox is going wildly socialist with their new hire. He is a famous supporter of Trotsky, Mao, and I believe Stalin too. Let's let Cliff KinKaid of AIM tell you more about this horror that is hitting the studio where Sean Hannity works.
In another indication of its leftward drift, the Fox News Channel has hired liberal former Democratic Congressman Harold Ford, Jr. as a political commentator and analyst. Ford lost his Tennessee Senate race to Republican Bob Corker last year.
Ford was the recipient of incredibly favorable coverage by Fox News during his Senate campaign. Fox News portrayed Ford as a moderate or even a conservative.
That is right people. Radical liberal Harold Ford is working for Fox News now. Emma Goldman once danced with him at a Playboy party if I recall correctly.
In reality, Harold Ford is a conservative democrat. He has been elected as chair of the DLC, which is a conservative pro business, corporately funded group that has been very supportive of the war in Iraq, as has Ford himself.
Here is radical Marxist Harold Ford cheering on the NJ supreme court for supporting gay civil unions. Can you believe that Fox News hired this guy?

I oppose gay marriage, and have voted twice in Congress to amend the United States Constitution to prohibit same-sex marriage. He didn't suggest the gays should be stoned, and be forced to wear pink triangles in that statement. Pinko!
Harold Ford also has been wishy washy on protecting the fetus. Those snowflake babies run from terror every time they hear Harold Ford's name. Harold Ford has a strong 30% rating from NARAL. Apparently he voted against making thinking a bad thing about a pregnant woman a capital offense, so they did give him some love.
He voted for banning late abortions, for banning traveling across state lines to perform an abortion, supports parental notification laws. He doesn't mean it though. He wants to abort all the white babies, except the ones who look like models. I believe he wants to have sex with them.
Thank goodness we have Cliff Kincaid to point out Harold Ford's radical agenda. Our media will be alerted to this news of Fox's leftward tilt, and put Cliff Kinkaid on to balance it accordingly. Wait, I am serious about this point.

Widely publicized Presidential debates in New Hampshire in April and in Nevada in August were cancelled after some candidates either backed out after agreeing to participate or declined invitations to attend.

They were terrified of you Dennis. They thought that the coast was clear for the Fox News debate until they heard Kucinich would be there. They ran in terror because they knew the campaign would be over if Kucinich got a chance to speak truth to power.
Then we stop taking the pharmaceuticals Kucinich apparently enjoys, and wake up to reality. How dare you Dennis? Those of us on the left worked very hard to get the right wing disinformation channel Faux News disinvited from hosting a debate. You now decide it's a good opportunity to puff and strut, and hope that Fox and right wing radio cover your pissy little PR release here to give you some attention.
Naderesque might be a suitable adjective. Go draw up plans for the Department of Peace, and don't call us, we'll call you.
Update:Shocking news. Michelle Malkin already has an attaboy Dennis post up. This means Drudge will have one too. Yup, just checked and he does. By tomorrow morning Rush, Hannity, Fox will cover it. Then the MSM will "ask the question" about the democrats being afraid to debate. Way to go Kucinich.

But liberals' aversion to Fox News has finally gone over the top. The Nevada Democratic Party had agreed to let the right-tilting network co-sponsor, of all things, an August debate in Reno between Democratic presidential candidates. Party officials were serious about drawing national attention to the state's January presidential caucus, the country's second in the 2008 nominating process. What better way for the party to reach conservative and "values" voters who might consider changing allegiances?Right tilting is a pretty pale description here. Fox News is the mouth organ of the GOP. It is not just Pravda for the party, but for radical conservatism as well. You don't see David Gergen, Jim Baker types on often. When is the last time anybody saw a Susan Collins or Olympia Snowe being given serious air time there? Tilt to the right? Just a wee smidgen maybe? The leaning tower of Pisa is just a tad off center too then.
But the socialist, Web-addicted wing of the Democratic Party was apoplectic. The prospect of having to watch Fox News to see their own candidates would have been torture in itself. So they set the blogosphere aflame with efforts to kill the broadcast arrangement, or at least have all the candidates pull out of the event. Before Friday, the opportunistic John Edwards was the only candidate to jump on that bandwagon.Ok, Fox news employs a bunch of people like Hannity and Ann Coulter as a regular guest who continually blast Edwards with strong mature criticisms such as he is a "faggot" and a "breck girl". Why would he not want to engage the channel that allows this serious debate,to dialogue with them in an introspective look at the issues?
Several shows on Fox hyped the Osama, oops I mean Obama was a terrorist sleeper cell of one angle. Dick Morris, while not keeping scheduled appointments with hookers for oral toe pedicures is on often bashing Hillary Clinton because we don't really get enough of him saying how much he hates her. They hype the fact that Scooter Libby got off on one of five charges, put chirons up that Mark Foley was a democrat. They devoted 12 times the coverage to Anna Nicole than to Walter Reed. That must make me a socialist for noticing. Because only people who believe in a strongly mixed economy that is highly government centric can possibly believe that Fox News is awful.
This hyperventilation results from the fact that far-left Democrats have no comparable media outlet, nor any widespread national appeal, for their radical views in favor of heavy-handed regulation, wealth redistribution, diplomatic capitulation and economic protectionism. So they attack their rivals' messenger with a reckless barrage of rhetoric that cuts down their own allies with friendly fire.
In their charming way, they admit that there is no equivalent of Fox News for liberals. It was nice to see the point conceded. I would just like the tax code of the 1950's. You know I like Ike time frame and all. He was apparently a pinko commie like me. Obviously, Joe McCarthy forgot to write him down on that list he kept in his pocket. This article is supposed to prove that liberals are unhinged? Pot meet kettle please.

John Hinderaker (aka Assrocker) has decided to set the record straight on the democrats pulling out of the Nevada debate that was scheduled to be hosted by Fox News.
More trouble for the Democratic Party, as the nutroots continue to push the party into a far left corner. It's now being reported that the Democrats are pulling out of a scheduled August debate in Nevada on Fox News. The stampede started when John Edwards said that he wouldn't participate in the debate, on the theory that Fox isn't liberal enough for the Democrats. The Edwards campaign announced this "principled" decision in an email to the nutroots' beehive, the Daily Kos. The rest of the party has now fallen into line, as none of the contenders apparently was willing to risk the displeasure of the party's nuttiest fringe.
That's good for the Republicans, bad for the Democrats. The original idea of the Nevada debate was to appeal to swing voters in the western states.
Ok, I am sure that Barack HUSSEIN Obama's Militant Madrass teacher was behind this. Or perhaps it was that pedophile Mark Foley (D-Florida). No wait, I think it was that faggot John Edwards. Fox News consultant Ann Coulter, fairly unbalanced, doesn't really like that wussy. Perhaps the democrats are upset for no good reason at all. Just because Fox News hosts call them traitors, scum, fifth columnists, un-american, and names not fit to print all day long doesn't mean that a panel of Britt "I love my dead gay son" Hume, Sean "4 1/2" cut" Hannity, and Bill "Pass the loofah" O'Reilly couldn't be fair.
I got a sneak peak at some of the questions. This is just tough journalism.

The democrats are just big wimps. Fox was going to ask the questions Rush Limbaugh's viewers wanted to know. There are a lot of swing voters in that group who are this close to voting for somebody from the democrat party.

The Nevada Democratic Party is working with Fox News Channel to host a debate with all the Democratic Party presidential candidates in August. This is, to put it mildly, insane. Fox News is a partisan Republican propaganda outlet, not a news station, and it is irresponsible for any candidate or party official to lend it the immense credibility of a presidential forum. It would be better to do this on MSNBC, CNN, C-Span, or just stream it on the Internet where progressive blogs can carry it.

Ana Marie Cox at Swampland points to how dreadful the material is in the new 30 minute Daily Show clone that starts airing this week-end on Fox. Let me set up the clip for you. Rush Limbaugh is the President of the United States in 2009 and he is addressing the American People.
They use a freaking canned laugh track. Listen for it folks. It's not even a very good job technically. Perhaps there was no studio audience, or they didn't react in a proper way, but some engineering "wizard" really did a bad job of mixing the audience "appreciation" for Rush's talents piss poorly.
That being said, here is the fresh new video from the geniuses at Fox.
