Burning Bush
Nabor Goulart / AP

This is unacceptable. Bush is visiting Latin America and they burn him in effigy wearing that shade of lipstick? Come on, Bush is more of a pale pink kind of guy and we need Condi Rice down there immediately to set the record straight. She can point to her shirt collar and demand a retraction. Oh, and she can get some cute shoes down there too.

Russia and China Team Up Militarily

In light of Russia's cooling relations with the United States and NATO, the Russian military leadership has begun to cultivate stronger defense ties with Asia. The head of Russia's General Staff, General Yury Baluyevsky will visit China from March 3 to 5, in preparation for a visit by the new defense minister, Anatoly Serdyukov, a month later. Both will discuss issues of military and political cooperation, including plans for a large-scale training exercise, Global Mission 2007, to be held in Chelyabinsk Region in June. Both President Vladimir Putin, Russia's president, and his Chinese counterpart, Hu Jintao, will attend the exercise.

So plutocratic Russia and China are back together naturally. It's ironic. Even during the cold war, there were tensions between the two communist giants. Now the wall has fallen, yet the fear of George Bush has done something that a pithy quote from Karl Marx never could; make them best friends.

Let's review shall we. Osama is still free. The anthrax mailer is still free. The axis of evil thing seems like a big mistake. Europe doesn't trust us. Hugo Chavez and Daniel Ortega are running things in Latin America. Now Russia and China are doing joint military excercises in Russia! Good thing the grown-ups are in charge. Condi, what do you suggest we do now? You know the Russians. Any thoughts?

Happy Birthday Ralph Nader

No seriously. I wish Ralph Nader a happy 73rd birthday today with fond wishes that he stay the hell away from the 2008 Presidential race. One of the stupidest things ever uttered was Nader's comment that there was not a dime's worth of difference between George W. Bush and Al Gore.

Tell that to the rest of the world Ralphie boy. So, happy birthday. If you run again, I will drive a Corvair around blindfolded, without a seatbelt or something else that would offend you greatly.

Michelle Bachmann Is Very Crazy

Those of you who watched the SOTU speech saw Michelle Bachmann (batshit crazy-Minnesota) try to dry hump the President on the floor of the house after the speech. This is the same person who said she fasted for several days and prayed about running for the house. She is proof that there is balance in the universe. Crazy Bush lady Katherine Harris leaves the house, and the very same day Bachmann is there to take her place. There must be an unwritten law that there has to be one. Many of us were concerned enough to think the Secret Service ought to offer protection to the President from this lunatic whose husband's profession is deprogramming the gay out of people like Ted Haggard, and helping her pick snazzy outfits to wear. Those pink shoes were so killer!

Bachmann leaves us assured though that the President is in no way concerned about her juvenile high school cheerleader behavior. Condi might be jealous though. Bachmann relates:
"I was concerned that I had violated protocol. But I had gotten a call from the White House to assure me that they were not in the least offended. In fact they were happy to know that even a stoic Norwegian could show that might excitement about the president of the United States," Bachmann said.

Yup. Batshit crazy. When a President is at the low 30's in the poll, when even Barney is losing the faith, being a stalker of the President, isn't being "a stoic Norwegian". As a Norwegian-American all I can say is uff-da. As an added bonus, Michelle Bachmann stalks another man too in the following video. She is "hot" for Jesus. How would Christ measure up to W? Bachman thinks Shrub is quite buff.

"Dubya is an "awesome date," before adding, "He's so buff. He's like you, Jason, he has 1 percent body fat." "

What is the matter with people in Minnesota?

Laura Bush In Denial Like Her Husband.

Think progress points out that Laura "pickles" Bush stated on Larry King last night that Iraq wasn't such a bad place. It's just that pesky media reporting on the one bombing a day that turned people off of the whole war thing.

As of November 2006, in reality, there were over 180 insurgent attacks a day. Before October 2005, it was less than 100 a day every month, to show the kind of progress we have been making lately.

Perhaps running into her ex-boyfriend and killing him with her car has made the first lady a little desensitized to death and destruction. Or maybe she is an idiot just like the other person who sleeps in her bed. I refer of course to Barney, who is still sticking with Commander Cuckoo Bananas.

5 Western States Bypass Bush On Global Warming

NEW YORK (Reuters) - Five Western U.S. states have formed the latest regional pact that bypasses the Bush administration to cut emissions linked to global warming through market mechanisms, according to Oregon's governor.

Oregon, California, Washington, New Mexico and Arizona have agreed to develop a regional target for reducing greenhouse emissions in six months, according a statement from Oregon Gov. Ted Kulongoski.

During the next 18 months, the governors will devise a market-based program, such as a load-based cap and trade program to reach the target. The five states also have agreed to participate in a multi-state registry to track and manage greenhouse gas emissions in their region.

While Cheney still snickers about global warming, and commander fucknuts is impotent to challenge his big polluting contributors, state governors including Republicans have decided that they just won't wait Bush's incompetency out until January 2009, and they need to act now.

Bush Neuters His Poodle, Blair Left Whimpering

Tony Blair was today facing a major rebuff from the United States over proposals to site key elements of the American so-called “son of Star Wars” missile defence system on British soil.

Downing St confirmed today that the British government was in discussion with Washington about hosting parts of the programme – believed to be the interceptors that would be used to bring down a ballistic missile – in the UK.

However the US deputy chief of mission in London, David Johnson, said that the US administration was primarily looking at the Czech Republic and Poland to locate the system.

Bush didn't forget Poland! Ok, to be serious a second, the Russians are furious about the missile components being placed in former Eastern Block soil. They feel threatened and this will likely start a new military build up. Tony Blair, who up until this week has kissed Bush's backside in the most degrading of ways has volunteered his country as an option for this boondoggle, which likely most people he rules doesn't want. So Bush tells him to bugger off.

If Bush wasn't busy trying to create Armageddon, this would be incredibly funny. Donestic politicians in the U.S. could have told Blair this is how Bush treats people who are of no use to him anymore. Blair needs to resign today. If you can't even show something you consider useful to your simpering loyalty to George W. Bush that has discredited your nation as well, what good purpose do you serve other than to help lead the Tories back into power?

Latin American Citizens Are Politically Sophisticated

In a Washington Post hit piece out on Hugo Chavez today, the virtues of free market capitalism and trade agreements were extolled while Chavez was painted negatively. He deserves it in many areas. He has an authoritarian streak that I find quite disturbing.
However, this article, probably endorsed by the US chamber of commerce, and the ghost of United fruit did have a moment of truth mixed in with the pro coporate agenda.

Although Chávez frequently travels to foreign capitals to lambaste Washington, it's not so clear that Latin Americans favor the Venezuelan president's prescriptions, even if their governments are happy to accept his aid. According to a recent survey of 20,200 people in 18 countries by Latinobarómetro, a Chilean polling firm, most Latin Americans lumped Chávez with Fidel Castro and President Bush as bad leaders, citing Brazil's Lula and Chile's Bachelet as the best. And most of those polled classified themselves as political moderates .

In Latin America, they distrust Bush and Chavez. Today I am a latin american too. Much of the time, the rest of the world has a more nuanced approach to politics than here in the US of A. You don't have to choose A or B. You can dislike authoritarian Chavez at the same time you don't trust authoritarian Bush. Our two party system has set up this mindset that there are only two options and you have to embrace one of the two, which of course is a falsity.

Viva Latin America!

They Get Letters

George "Commander Cuckoo Bananas" Bush's latest attempt to compare himself with a historic figure, this time George Washington, drew a letter to the Statesman Journal in Salem, Oregon. I will highlight a key paragraph. Does the Preznitwit have any fans left anymore?

Bush will be remembered as the AWOL chickenhawk president who spent his war years falling off bar stools in honky-tonks around Alabama, leaving someone else to take his place in Nam. But mostly, he'll be remembered for invading an unarmed country for the benefit of the oil industry and bringing on civil war that's escalated into a blood bath.

Barney is still holding resolute. Laura might be losing her nerve.

Tax Cuts, Program Cuts in Perspective

While America obsessed about Brittany's shaved head, Bush offered a budget that offers $32.7 billion in tax cuts to the Wal-Mart family alone, while cutting $28 billion from Medicaid.

An interesting way of looking at it. Alot of Bush's wealthy donors/friends are getting tax cuts that themselves are much greater than budget slashing that the decider proposes. So, should Medicaid be cut in order to give a tax break to the Walton family? Framed this way, the American people might respond differently when asked by pollsters.

Habeus Schmabeus

A federal appeals court in Washington Tuesday upheld a key provision of a controversial anti-terrorism law signed by President Bush last year that removed the rights of Guantanamo prisoners to challenge their detention before U.S. courts. Known as the Military Commissions Act, the law permits the US to indefinitely detain foreigners designated as "enemy combatants" and also allows the use aggressive but unspecified interrogation techniques.

With qualified people like "Deadeye" Dick Cheney, George "Cuckoo Bananas" Bush and Alberto "Abu" Gonzales determining who is a terrorist, why should there be any further word? I mean, they never have gotten anything wrong yet, let's have some Feith, um faith.

The Cold War Part Deux: This Time It's Stupid

The Czech Republic said on Tuesday it would not be intimidated by Russia over plans to site parts of a U.S. missile defense system on its territory and said attempts at "blackmail" by Moscow would backfire.

Czech Foreign Minister Karel Schwarzenberg said threats by Russian officials over the plans, which would involve placing a radar system on Czech land and a missile battery in Poland, would only make Czechs more determined to defend themselves.

Russia's strategic forces commander, General Nikolai Solovtsov, said on Monday that Russia would be capable of firing missiles at the Czech Republic and Poland if the ex-communist states agreed to host the U.S. defense system.

Oh, what to say. This missile defense system is a hare brained wet dream of the idiots left from the Reagan Administration, that doesn't even work properly unless the tests are rigged.

So, not only do we have a stupid program that is not close to working, but we are provoking the Russians by placing parts in former East Block countries. One of the many reasons for Soviet expansion into these states was a blowback from fears of another power like Germany marching east to Russia, and they kind of wanted a buffer zone, in addition to local hegemony, and the typical lust for power.

How in the hell are the Russians to respond to this? It is extremely provocative on our (Crazy McBush's) part, and Russia will feel forced to respond by doing something aggressive to prove that they aren't wallflowers.

It is shocking that Bush's long deep glance into Vladimir's soul didn't help him understand that acting like a cowboy jackass might actually offend the Russian government into doing something other than taking bribes from the mob and killing journalists who notice Putin had a bad hair day.

Crazy Iranian Leader Does Make A Point

Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, speaking on the eve of a UN
Security Council deadline to halt unranium enrichment, called on Western nations Tuesday to stop their own enrichment programs if they wanted his country to stop its own and return to negotiations.

Ahmadinejad told a crowd of thousands in northern Iran that it was no problem for his country to stop, as long as Western nations did the same.

One of the worst kept secrets in the world is that there is a great deal of hypocrisy when it comes to weapons of mass destruction. North Korea just cut a nice deal with us because they already proved they could build nuclear weapons. Iraq, which hasn't gotten that far yet, got bombed and invaded. Notice the difference?

Vladimir Putin's point is apt. President Bush's bellicose behavior only encourages rogue states to hurry faster to get their program going. North Korea, Pakistan, India, or Israel for that matter are in no danger of being seriously invaded by anybody because they are already nuclear powers.

We have tons of nuclear weapons, we have biological weapons, and President Bush wants to resume testing of next generation of nuclear weapons at the same time we are demanding that third world nations better not dare to develop these things because they are "bad".

Assume Iran is a rational or even rational actor. What is their incentive to stop? So, we won't invade? Bush invaded Iraq on dummied up intelligence even when they stopped their program, so that isn't a great motivator. The only legitimate way that Iran can feel safe from us bombing them to kingdom come is a slew of nukes aimed at Tel Aviv. Period. It sucks for the Israelis who in this respect are pawns for the US foreign policy. But, that is reality.

Until we give genuine incentives for Iran to stop, they realistically won't because it isn't in their self interest to wait until GWB decides that the four horsemen of the apocolypse were messengers of Jesus telling him that we got to smoke out those persians before the President's personal philosopher can get funding for a sequel.

Bush "Sings" A U2 Classic

Words fail me.

Bush Compares Himself To George Washington

MOUNT VERNON, Va. President Bush honored the 275th birthday of the nation's first president on Monday, likening George Washington's long struggle that gave birth to a nation to the war on global terrorism.

Well, he was close. Bush kind of is similar to King George of England. Both men are certifiable, not very respected by the country they have invaded with forces, and getting their asses kicked in a quagmire, even though they have strength in numbers, and in military might.

Don't be alarmed. Bush is not totally off the deep end yet. When he compares himself to Jesus, you can get in your bomb shelters and kiss the planet goodbye. The beautiful thing, and I do find beauty in this, is that I seriously doubt Bush is the least bit self-conscious when he makes these statements. Karl Rove wanted him to be like McKinley, when Bush's poll numbers tanked, he decided he was Harry Truman, now that he is about 3/4 batshit crazy, he is George Washington Part Deux.

People, if you visit the white house, don't offer the President anything with sharp edges, paper, pens, just smile and back away slowly. In times like this, I am almost glad that Cheney is really running things. He is just completely evil. Let's all do our part and write letters to deadeye Dick, encouraging him to not share the nuclear football codes with Martha Washington's other husband.

Manufacturers' Lobbyist To "Protect" Consumer Safety

Whomever said irony was dead has not been following President George "Commander Cuckoo Bananas" Bush's choices to fill key federal positions and the language decisions he employs in bills submitted to congress. Sure, we thought it was all a bit much when he hired Gale Norton, good pal of Jack Abramoff, as head of the interior department. She was a lobbyist for the National Lead Industry before she helped Bush out with "Healthy Forests" and "Clean Skies".

Now we have the top lobbyist for the manufacturing industry, Michael Baroody, set to protect consumer rights George Bush style. Consumers expect your furniture to explode pretty soon. Michael Baroody would just call that dual use technology. Bush is going to go the recess appointment route with this nominee because sane people (aka democrats) would find it a bad idea to appoint somebody whose career is based on shafting consumers in favor of manufacturers into consumer protection position. There are no sane people left in this administration.

Baroody's less than impressive pro-consumer biography is steeped almost exclusively in public relations work for major Republican figures. He served as Bob Dole's Speechwriter and Executive Assistant, and later as a flack for the RNC and the Reagan White House. Baroody has served as the chief spokesmen for the National Association of Manufacturers, a group the San Francisco Chronicle described as "an industry group that opposes aggressive product-safety regulation and punitive fines."

The CPSC's ability to regulate and fine serves as a powerful tool to protect consumers. We show each day that industry alone cannot secure the well-being of its customers. Baroody's past makes us question whether he will work for consumers or the industry. For the sake and safety of consumers everywhere, we hope it is the former.

I think that Bush needs to try even harder. We need Michael Jackson to monitor child safety. We also could get David Duke to head the EEOC. If we are going off the deep end here, lets go with panache. We also need Chalabi appointed to determine the extent of Iran's involvement in supplying insurgents in Iraq. We should call it "Operation You Have Got To Be Fucking Kidding Me!", or we could cry.

President Bush Has Two Moles Removed

WHITE HOUSE President Bush has had two moles removed from his left temple.

The five-minute procedure, called a shave biopsy, was performed today in the White House doctors office. It was performed by a dermatologist from Walter Reed Army Medical Center. Only a local anesthetic was required.

The cancer on the presidency has not yet been treated.

Cognitive Dissonance Is What's For Dinner

Over at DailyKos, Jeff Huber points out that the Bush administration is saying that it's even worse if rogue elements are supplying weaponry to Iraq. Bush's quote from yesterday is revealing.
But my point is, what’s worse, them ordering it and it happening, or them not ordering it and its happening?
As Jeff points out, our administration says that what happened at Abu Ghraib was a bunch of bad apples that we didn't order to abuse prisoners. Following this logic, their defense, lies that it is, is not a valid one.The media calling Bush out over the inherent contradictions of course is a fool's dream.

Bush To Veto Bill Aimed At Strengthening Unions

President Bush will veto pending legislation aimed at boosting union strength, Vice President Cheney told National Association of Manufacturers members at a Wednesday breakfast meeting to kick off the group’s lobbying efforts.

The manufacturers’ coalition seeks to kill the bill, among a list of four legislative priorities for the 110th Congress. The House Education and Labor Committee is scheduled to mark up the legislation Wednesday.

President Bush's veto is important of course. The unions are much too powerful. They command 12% of the workforce in 2006, down from 12% in 2005, as compared to the 1950's when they were over 35% of all workers. In other words, Bush is selling out American workers to big business.

The reason behind this bill is simple. Companies tend to fire workers who try to organize, or they ship in a whole bunch of employees in just before a vote who are there just to vote no on a union. This bill would allow workers to simply sign a secret card saying they wanted a union, and when 50% of them sign for it, they can have a union.

Worker salaries are stagnant. Corporate bonuses were actually higher in 2006, then the entire amount of increase in non managerial salaries for ALL workers for the last five years. What a disgrace we have for a President. But he believes in Armageddon, and his followers blissfully follow him off the cliff. Enough is enough already. You guys won the class war, we get it.

In Where I Defend the President's Honor Against The Terrorists

CAIRO, Egypt - Al-Qaida's No. 2 said President Bush was an alcoholic and a lying gambler who wagered on Iraq and lost, according to a new audiotape released Tuesday.
Ayman al-Zawahri said in the tape that Bush has been forced to admit his failure in Iraq after he was "stubborn" and repeated the "lie, which he became addicted to, that he is winning" in Iraq and Afghanistan.

"Bush suffers from an addictive personality, and was an alcoholic. I don't know his present condition ... but the one who examines his personality finds that he is addicted to two other faults — lying and gambling," al-Zawahri said in the audiotape.

Now sure, Bush is a white knuckle alcoholic. I will give Al-Zawahri that one. Yes, he also is a liar. No doubt about that. But the gambling thing is just wrong. Bush probably didn't think of this as a gamble. His thinking is typically not that evolved or involved. It was probably more on the line of let's blow some shit up. So, I think Al-Zawahri is slandering our President, and needs to stop. Bush should challenge him to a duel or something along those lines, mano a mano like he did to his daddy back in the day.

Bush may be a degenerate, but he is not a degenerate gambler.Shame on you, you terrorist scum. Al-Zawahri must have been thinking of Bill Bennett.
