Freepers Respond To David Vitter's Infidelity
It's always fun to check in with the mouth breathers at Free Republic when news of scandal breaks. How are they going to react to the news that Vitter saw hookers from the D.C. Madam's stable.
First, here is David Vitter's statement.
"Several years ago, I asked for and received forgiveness from God and my wife in confession and marriage counseling. Out of respect for my family, I will keep my discussion of the matter there --with God and them. But I certainly offer my deep and sincere apologies to all I have disappointed and let down in any way," he wrote.
Would the freepers unanimously say this is bogus? Vitter after all took over the seat of Bob Livingston in congress, who had to resign over adultery after hounding Bill Clinton for the same. Clinton was a terrible human being who violated women who were younger. Vitter obviously must be worse. He used hookers!
Something about his vote against the stupid amnesty bill, most likely. The media and their puppet masters are reeling from the realization that we out here can and do think and that we are growing more unimpressed with them.
He's anti-amnesty and is the first Politician to get thrown under the bus.
He asked forgiveness. He got it. Why drag this up now????
Because he's a Republican. Need one really have to ask?
So people can demonstrate moral superiority and faux outrage.
Why do we care if a politico visits a prostitute when the vast majority of them ARE prostitutes in one way or another?
Let he who is without sin cast the first stone...
I don’t recall Clinton being so repentant...
The BIG difference is Vitter was sorry BEFORE he was caught.
He’s a conservative Republican. I’m prepared to give him the benefit of the doubt. Besides, we’ve ALL done things we wish we hadn’t...
I don’t think we can compare this to BJ. He is a serial offender. This guy mad(sic) up with his God and his wife (how hard would that be?) before his ‘crime’ was public knowledge. That in itself says a fair bit about Vitter’s character.
When Vitter runs for re-election in 2010, I’m voting for him.
I think the whole escort business between consenting adults should be legalised.
Everybody is a sinner and can err and rep;ent. However, usually the one who accuses hypocrisy is mocking the morals and not the sin. The sin is no big deal.
“Put this incident against the mayor of Los Angeles and his shenanigans. Who’s going to get the bad press? Oh, that’s a tough one. NOT!”
“It’s just sex” between consenting adults. It’s an old story.
He addressed the issue with his family YEARS ago.
Why should he resign?? This happened a long time ago and he and his wife have come to terms with it. It’s over. If he was a democrat, they’d be cheering him. I say STAY.
He votes the right way. I’d prefer a sinner who opposes baby killing than a sanctimonious pr*ck who supports mass slaughter.
Yup. They are treating him just the way they responded to Clinton, because they are the party of morality.
