A suicide bomber has blown up a truck near a police station and a school in the northern Iraqi city of Kirkuk, killing at least 12 people.
More than 130 were injured in the blast, police said
Oh, and there is this too.
BAGHDAD (Reuters) - The bodies of 19 civilians kidnapped by gunmen at a fake checkpoint north of Baghdad were found on Monday, Iraqi police and hospital sources said.
They said all had been shot in the head and chest in one of the biggest mass kidnappings in months.
Gunmen kidnapped the civilians, men from a Shi'ite village near the city of Baquba, after stopping cars at a fake checkpoint on Sunday. The bodies were found not far from Baquba, which lies 65 km (40 miles) north of Baghdad.
I am starting to get more and more depressed about Iraq. That is saying something. There really is no stopping George Bush. The only thing democrats can apparently do is cut funds. He will veto any legislation which forces us to leave. The only option left is to deny funds for the war. He will not stop otherwise.
One of the worst things right now is Dick Cheney's status. In a normal year 7 of a Presidency, the VP is often running for President himself. This forces the administration to actually care what the voters think and to moderate their positions in order to "get re-elected" in a sense. Bush and Cheney don't worry about that a bit though. So, we get more carnage.
