Political Debates in Spring 2007

Am I the only one who is not very enthused? We just are front loading the process so greatly that there really isn't as much drama. Do I care what the candidates say or how they perform now? A little. Brian Williams is being atrocious as a moderator, and the format stinks.

I prefer topic forums. Since we are starting so early, we have time. Each debate would be about a single topic. Foreign Policy, Iraq, health care, jobs, environment, etc. There would be enough time to actually get into an issue if it was done this way. These debates though are made for those who can get the soundbite in. The media loves the soundbite, but frankly I don't give a crap.

It would be better to have meat in the debates. People need information to make good judgements. It's way down there in the list of concerns apparently, but it does matter.
