ASADABAD, Afghanistan (Reuters) - Taliban guerrillas chopped noses and ears of at least five truck drivers in eastern Afghanistan as punishment for transporting supplies to U.S.-led troops, officials and residents said on Sunday.
The drivers were part of a convoy headed for a coalition military base when they were attacked in the province of Nuristan on Saturday.
"The number of drivers who had their noses and ears cut varies, it is between five and eight," Ghulamullah, the police chief of Nuristan who uses only one name, said citing locals and officials in the area.
Does Ghulamullah think he's Madonna? Oh, and George W. Bush it was a really bright idea to divert our troops away from Afghanistan and start that little excursion in Iraq. Who could have envisioned that by understaffing in Afghanistan it would create an ability for the Taliban to regroup. You know, the Taliban; those fellas who funded, sheltered, and supported the people responsible for 9/11. Hello? Put down your video games Commander Cuckoo Pants and realizing you are losing two wars at once, which isn't as good as a trick as that monster 540 you did on Tony Hawk Iv, but still quite impresssive all the same.
What are you going to do about this? I suggest you start a taskforce with experts such as Dick Cheney, Alberto Gonzales, and Condi Rice to figure it out. Perhaps the cutting off of the noses and ears will give you some new ideas to give to countries we render our prisoners too. Genitals being hooked up to electrodes just isn't extreme enough apparently.
