Many politicians don't get the whole blogging issue that well. Some patronize their audience, or go to high profile sites like Daily Kos and post hit and run diaries. Others try to micromanage and arrange it so only devoted followers comments and questions are posted through heavy censorship based on ideas.
Across the pond though, there is a member of the parliament who has a very interesting site that he posts to constantly. He discusses politics for the most part, but there are humor posts, for example making fun of Brittish Bacon Education Week, while at the same time writing posts on drug laws, firearm amnesty programs and the like. MP Tom Watson covers all these topics at tom-watson.co.uk
Tom Watson has a bit more time I guess, because he left his leadership job in labor after asking for Tony Blair to resign back in November, leaving his position as Under Secretary of State for Defence and Minister for Veterans. Please have a look when you get the chance. Other politicians around the world could learn some lessons.
